Easter Eggers are popular, hardy hybrid chickens known for laying a variety of colored eggs—including blue, green, olive, and aqua—and for having friendly, docile temperaments suitable for families. They are not a formal breed but rather hybrids descending from Araucana and Ameraucana stock. These birds, which typically have pea combs and sometimes beards or muffs, are excellent foragers, productive layers of 4-6 eggs weekly, and live for 5–8 years.
